Concept Development
Flavors of Tradition is a concept developed for a Yemeni restaurant in Oslo, seeking to channel authenticity, warmth, and cultural richness. The direction revolved around the interplay of spice and aroma, wood and stone—creating a mood that felt both vibrant and grounded. With rich color palettes, textured patterns, and inviting spatial compositions, the identity aimed to evoke a feeling of hospitality and heritage, reflecting the restaurant’s ethos of sharing Yemeni culture through food and atmosphere.
The concept development phase centered on the idea of “Flavors of Home,” a narrative evoking the comforting embrace of Yemeni hospitality and the delicate interplay of spice, warmth, and tradition.
Mood board Creation
The concept development phase centered on the idea of “Flavors of Tradition,” a narrative evoking the rich movement of spices and the warmth of Yemeni hospitality. We explored a palette of deep saffron, earthy browns, and vibrant reds to capture the essence of flavor and authenticity. With inspirations drawn from woven textiles, handcrafted pottery, and the aroma of slow-cooked dishes, the visual direction embodied richness, warmth, and the beauty found in cultural heritage.
Final Result
Finally, the art direction was brought to life across all brand touchpoints. Social media assets showcased rich textures and vibrant imagery to convey the warmth and depth of Yemeni cuisine. The menu design featured traditional patterns and bold typography, crafted to reflect the richness of spices and cultural heritage. Even the restaurant space embraced handcrafted details, warm ambient lighting, and earthy décor elements that echoed the essence of Yemeni hospitality—inviting guests into an atmosphere where flavor, culture, and community come together.
